He saw the light.
In memory of Tusks.
I plead the 5th!
He was last year.
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
Maybe you weren't paying attention.
MSU 3 - NU 24
Cousins: 11 of 27 for 86 yds, and one int., and Zero yds rushing
Taylor: 7 of 13 for 80 yds, one TD and one int, with 23 yds rushing.
Certainly Martinez was better on that day.
...It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
W. C. Fields
On that day it was CLOSE. But overall Cousins beats Martinez. If you're a GM and you're picking between the two who do you take?
"Last year" does not equal "one day."
You're talking about what each guy might do in the NFL. That proves nothing and is pure conjecture.
Fact is, Martinez was that better QB when NU played MSU last year.
That's not conjecture. The numbers are there.
A three TD win says I'm right, especially when you consider that MSU supposedly had the best defense in the B1G last year, while Nebraska's D struggled in several games.
To return to the original argument:
Martinez was the better QB last year.
Iowa 7 - Nebraska 20
Vandenberg: 16 of 35 (46%), for 182 yds (5.2 per pass) with Zero TDs and ONE Int., and 4 yds rushing.
Martinez: 12 of 22 (55%), for 163 yds (7.4) with ONE TD and Zero ints, and 20 yds rushing.
Thanks, I'll take Martinez.
So you base your determination on who a better QB is by one day?
Why not count the whole season's stats, then?
Can someone post Martinez, Vandenpants and Cousins stats from last year (including total yards...not just passing) TiA
The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.
Exactly what I'm wondering.
Not until he tells me why he's going game by game.
Because then he can pick the games why Taylor played well and focus on those.
I have a feeling completion percentage is where the gap would really widen.
Martinez -- Cousins -- Vandenberg
I think rushing statistics might change the equation... I might have taken Cousins over Martinez at times, but from what I've seen from Vandenburg,... i'll take Martinez.
that is the best stat out there IMO. Completion % is huge
I accounted rushing in what I posted.
