Hawkeyes trailing 20-14 with two minutes left in the first half.
Iowa can't stop Central Michigan on defense.
Hawkeyes hold Central Michigan to another field goal inside the 10. Trailing 23-14 now heading into half.
And this game is supposed to be a potential loss for us?!?!?!
With LA Tech Illinois and Penn State Temple there will be more chances for the B1G to struggle. OSU was given a gift from UAB at the end of half.
Iowa's lack of speed on both sides of the ball is going to be a glaring problem for them this season... wow.
Getting to be a sad and sorry broken record each and every week this season regarding the Big 10.
Underwhelming performances, underwhelming athletes, and quite simply undewhelming teams across the board.
Every team in the Big 10 has glaring weakenesses in some form or fashion.
The typical 2 deep zone defenses that B1G teams run isn't only by design, but due to a severe lack of diference-makers in the front 7 for every team in the conference.
Seriously, who in this conference really scares you? Severely limited in players that can reel off 80 yard TDs, and front 7's on defense that wear cement shoes.
The most startling statistic of the year in the Big 10?
Nebraska leads the conference in Sacks and TFL's right now. Let that sink in for a bit.
It sank in.... Gosh you don't have to be so mean....
Glass half full: That bodes well for us in the conference season?
Sadly, I agree.
Sorry, didn't mean for it to be so spiteful or mean. Just a bitter and harsh reality.
While it would be great to win the Big 10, I certainly wouldn't look forward to playing Oregon, Stanford, or USC in the Rose Bowl. Maybe we would get lucky and get a rematch with UCLA?
I think we can hang with USC, Stanford or UCLA.
We could run Burkhead 50 times and keep it close a la USC1. (referring to Oregon USC)
same here,,, Oregon's speed would shred us though.
Stanford can get brutal with your front 4 and front 7 and just cram it down your throat. They are the Wisconsin of the West, and with better talent.
USC, offensively, would be brutal. We'd have to score 42 or more to beat them. Barkley, Lee, Woods, and Redd are a load to put on your defense. Especially if you can't get to the QB.
UCLA? Hundley is only going to get better as the season rolls on and when their WR's grow up a bit more they'll be tough for anybody to handle come November much less January.
Oregon would be a disaster. If we thought Arkansas State liked to run their offense at a high speed, what would we do with the Duck offense? We couldn't sub fast enough to keep up, and would get caught in some bad defensive personnel mismatches in a number of snaps.
Damn, I'm just full of negativity today.
Bring on the Bengals! 63-13.
Iowa barely squeaked by in this one... wow.
Ain't over yet...
wow CMU just recovered the onside kick...
And then Iowa gets hit with a personal foul... CMU might pull this one off. What a melt down by Iowa.
I think its a very good chance that not only will Iowa miss out on a bowl game... but they may be the worst team in the B1G
Indiana still has a football team.
hopefully they play eachother... it'll be quite the showdown.
CMU with a 47 yard field goal try....
November 3rd, in Bloomington.
Surely Gameday will be there.
And....Iowa goes down.
it's good! CMU is going to win 32-31... wow. Iowa is B-A-D
wow, he made it. Io_A
i am currently getting downvoted on the Iowa Game thread... it should be fun
