I have been discussing with a TN fan who says they "passed on cross because he wasn't that good" last year.
And it got me thinking. Who do you think Cross resembles?
I kinda think of him more of a Quintin (however you spell it) Castille. But who knows right now? His ceiling may be an Eddy Lacy who I am watching play at Bama right now. He seems to have good feet for a big back. Thought about Castille first but then also thought about Cody Glenn. He is seems to run like but is smaller than a Dan Alexander.

glad they "passed" on him
Yeah. I live in TN and all I hear is Gruden. Also they thought Toby was a lock to wear orange.
Its not lacy, lacy spins a lot more. Similar strength though.
I can't really think of a good comparison. Michigan States rb, Bell is pretty similar i think actually but that may be the 'easy' answer. I think we will be able to answer better in time. Not a big enough sample size, but i like what i've seen thus far.

Lacy is a heckuva lot faster.
IOWA - Idiots Out Walking Around
Yeah I guess that's true he does remind more of Bell than a Lacy.
Imani Cross is gonna be a big time name in his own right someday. Really excited about this guy's potential. I've always been a fan of big bruising backs. Once he gets momentum he's tough to bring down. A lot like Bell, but maybe faster. Bell is bigger.

Cross is so much slower than all of those players.
He runs more like our great FB's than RB's. I would say he is more like Dan Alexander if I had to compare to a RB.
"In the deed, the glory"
Thats why I mentioned Alexander.. All muscle not much wiggle but enough to escape the FB spot.
Alexander wasn't slow. He actually outran Ben Kelly from Colorado who was a track star at Colorado.
He just literally could not cut left or right, ran with too much forward lean, and fumbled too much because he was so muscular.
Hence my only real comparison I could come up with in Stevie Hicks. Guy ran about a 4.6 40 back in the day (on a good day), didn't have much wiggle, but ran hard and was a big back that Iowa State used to pound with out of their I-formation under McCarney.
