I think this is going to show where Indiana actually is against top level competition. This is most excited I have been about IU baseball in a long time. Good luck the next 3 games but not too much luck.
mkillian247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.
I'm going to the game tomorrow so I hope we win! Can't wait to see what this Indiana baseball is about. Hopefully it's a competitive series
i hope it's not! If we want to solidify our place in the top 2 we need to at least win this series if not sweep it... we need to play our best ball of the season from here on out.
I agree. I just don't think we're very good
Here's what I know... we CAN be very good at times, but we are the paragon of inconsistency.
If the weather were going to be nicer, I could see a lot of runs being scored in the series. Both these teams can really rake.
Thanks for the post and thanks for considering us "top level competition".
We've certainly played very good baseball this year even if our record doesn't say so. And it doesn't. We have played a lot of good teams (SOS - 23) but, man, have we lost a lot of games. Catching you guys in Lincoln is good for us.
Looking only at Big Ten games, we lead the league in offense....
1.) Huskers: .348 batting avg/129 runs/209 hits.
3.) Hoosiers: .309 / 97 / 154
Defensively it's a different story....
1.) Hoosiers: 2.42 ERA /37 BB /97 K's
8.) Huskers: 4.31 / 41 / 86
Looking at these numbers, there's nothing wrong with your hitting but there is something wrong with our pitching. We have good faith in our starters but not so much with our bullpen. If you get to our bullpen early, we'll be in trouble.
You guys really have something good going on this year and, on paper, you should win this series. We are disparately trying to get the two seed in the B1G tourney and two losses this weekend won't hurt us too badly provided we win big at Minnesota and here vs Michigan. And, even then, we will need MSU to stumble somewhere these next three weekends.
Good luck Indiana (but not too much ).
We can be a solid team, we are not and can not be a good team. We can be tough to beat if DeLeon and Kubat are on, our relief pitching seems to be like the weather this spring. Very nice or down right cold. Hitting is the same, we were turning it around and then last weekend hit like snow in May. If we can get a top 2 seed I like our chances of running the table to a regional, if we don't I see our chances at about 20 percent with not enough pitching or runs scored.
Good, if they are both that good at raking, there are several parks that could use a good cleaning!
"In the deed, the glory"
That feels like a Norm Macdonald joke?
Bruntz they still planning to play today?
I checked about 30 minutes ago. Game's still on for now. No word on whether that will be the case later today, though.
Gotta' get us some wins. Cannot lose anymore games. Period.
No more losses will guarantee us the one seed. One more loss can still get us at least the two seed. Two more losses and we can still get the two seed with a little help from our friends.
If Indiana, Minnesota and MSU each come up with one unexpected loss, we could still get the two seed even with two more losses.
Fact is, there is still a lot of flux and no one has a lock yet. Each of the top four are in the same boat. We all need to keep winning and it won't be possible for all of us to do that. Well, MSU could because they're all done with the other three.
Alright we're going to leave a little after one so if they postpone it I want to know before 3:30
