Lando, Lando, Lando, I'm thinking that your Tums and Rolaids consumption would diminish if you would just take a pass instead of replying to every little provocation.
Bo Pelini makes that amount of money to win -- FAIL, to teach kids how to be men and how to play football -- QUESTIONABLE, to represent the program like a mature adult -- FAIL FAIL. To win games against quality teams -- FAIL FAIL? Ask Bo about his golf game, ask BO what he really thinks of the fans here, ask Bo what he really thinks of TO. He isn't who you dream his is and gets paid more $$$ than any coach in the history of Nebraska and IMO doesn't even like it here. So yes his paycheck matters because he isn't doing what he is getting paid to do. Can you get away with that at your job?
“Patience, n. A minor form of despair, disguised as a virtue.”
When you look at our results for the last 2 games, you look at our stats in the BIG, we are last or 11th in almost every defensive category. We are 6/6 in our last 12 FBS games, terrible!
Our last 3 games we have played against freshman QBs, we have made them all look like all conference players instead of dialing up a D to pressure them into bad mistakes. Instead they have all day to scan the field and find receivers running wide open after 5 or 6 seconds.
Our play on D this last two seasons begs for answers, I know our roster is a mess right now with continual misses on
the recruiting trail. The other issue that is the worst is we are getting out coached on a very serious level right now, the other team is making the adjustments in the 2nd half and giving us a serious whoopin.
Our problems go beyond replacing a couple of linebackers, it looks to me that we have a big mess with our HC and his underwhelming assistants. Next 3 weeks will be interesting times down at Memorial stadium, I am hoping for good adjustments and changes?
Kane good post. I don't want bo fired now.
But just because Saban and Tom eventually succeeded doesn't mean bo will. He may. He may not.
Losing to teams we shouldn't and getting blown out and not being very successful in recruiting and not being nationally relevant get old.
I want him tO succeed here but something we are going to have to see is him making changes not just trying harder to do the same thing.
Bo didn't make adjustments in the game. UCLA ran the RB pass and got Compton to match up with him over and over. We didn't adjust. Bo is a very smart defensive mind but it only works with top talent. Yet we don't adjust to our talent. Hopefully he can figure it out but the clock is ticking.
cool picture from space
Apparently, I was right. There is little that is rational in your post, but I'll address it point by point.
I can only assume that you play golf with Bo, and that you have had several personal conversations with him. Otherwise, how could you possible know what he thinks of the fans or TO?
I have no illusions about who or what Bo Pelini is. He's a football coach, who is trying his best to build this program into a championship program, which we have not been since 1999. It's to his advantage to do so, and I believe he is trying his damnedest to do just that.
He is getting paid to win as many games as he can with the talent he has. Nine games a year is a 70% winning percentage. Do you actually know how many college coaches have a winning percentage of 70% or better?
Your second point is unbelievably arrogant on your part. How on earth would you know the character of the players on this team?
Your third point is STUPID STUPID. It's entirely based on your personal opinions and prejudices.
Your fourth point is the only valid point you offer. I note that it is only in the fourth line that you even suggest that this is merely your OPINION, because you don't actually know if anything you've written is true.
Here's the point. It doesn't really matter how much he's being paid. If any of your points are valid, then they would still be valid if he was only making $100,000 a year. Just because he's making three million does not mean that he automatically must be a championship coach. It would certainly be preferable, and it is certainly something the fans expect, but many college football, hell pro football, coaches have been paid as much or more and done no better.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
"Here's the point. It doesn't really matter how much he's being paid".
then lets give him a pay cut
and if i remember right Harvey Perlman publically reprimanding Pelini about his lack of maturity on the side lines and it was reported that Osborn talked to him about it as well.
enjoy being a Pelini apologist but his act is wearing thin, not that we can fire him or should fire him yet.
he does win 9 games a season. well he did until this season. i'd bet your trailer home on a 5-6 loss season.
NU will go 3-5 in big 10 play.
I will bet you we don't go 3-5. If we were in the Big 12, Pac 12, ACC or the SEC. I wouldn't though. The big ten is bad. Not just Bad, real Bad.
Oath Before Orders
Khoolshady: Loved your comments and agree with you 100%. Up vote for you.
I love the fact that you assume I live in a trailer home. No such luck. No, I have to live in a fashionable part of Los Angeles and pay far more for the privilege than you probably make in a month.
But, I digress. Five or six losses? Hmm, I wonder which five teams you think will beat the Huskers? Michigan? MSU? Ohio State? Northwestern?
That's four possibilities, but considering that Iowa and Wisconsin lost to much worse teams than UCLA I kinda doubt either of them will have much luck. That leaves either Minnesota or Penn State. Both play in Lincoln. Neither has a prayer of winning there.
All you have proven with your post is that you know next to nothing about college football, or Nebraska football, or B1G football.
Oh, btw, we fans don't give Pelini any money. He is paid out of the revenues of the football program.
I don't know that we couldn't find at least four teams in any of those conferences that Nebraska could beat. I'd list them, but I don't care to waste the time.
Are you kidding me?
It's good to be the King.
This may sound dumb but a team wr better not sleep on us northwestern. They were up big on Syracuse and let them back on the game but still won. Cuse put up some points on USC. Also they beat vandy who almost beat south Carolina. Something we couldn't do when they didn't have Marcus lattimore.
I am not saying we lose but we better show
You know what? I get the 'Trash' part but don't get the "Angel' part.
Hey I grew up in a mobile home. Also have been to LA. Maybe I saw you out there.
Oh wait. I wasn't in the fashionable part though.
Nevermind. I guess I didn't see you then.
Vanderbilt is the Minnesota/Kansas/Indiana/Duke of the SEC and always has been. Beating Vandy really does not mean all that much, other than that they are one of the three worst programs in SEC history.
However, we can't sleep on NW, not after last year's game.
Which part don't you believe?
That Pelini is paid out of football revenues? Hell, Nebraska football pays for every expense in the Athletic Department.
We could list them....but would they be on our schedule and would the location be favorable if we played in those conferences.
Please don't scoff at Minnesota or Penn State. There is no reason they should win in Lincoln, I'll give you that. But as we've shown over the last few years, we've let teams beat us in Lincoln that have no business doing so.
Iowa and Wisconsin are struggling, no doubt. But so are we....we aren't good enough to just show up. Those are games we should win as we are the more talented team, but once again, we've lost plenty of games when that has been the case.
All that being said....I don't think we go 3-5 or even 4-4. I thought we'd go 6-2 before the season. I think we'll go 5-3 now.
As far as the revenues go....isn't a big chunk of the revenue stemming from ticket and memorabilia revenue which is obviously funded by the fanbase.
"I have to live in a fashionable part of Los Angeles and pay far more for the privilege than you probably make in a month".
Luke Perry is that you?
Generally people who find it necessary to boast about privilege and success don't have either or it was handed to them.
He was basically called 'trailer park trash'. All he did was defend himself.
Now you come along and call him a 'boaster'.
Anyone else? It's smear DA time. Jump on board, people.
[EDIT: My bad, people, just noticed it is the same poster who made both smears. So, no smear train going on. Sorry.]

I am a huge Bo supporter, but I will say this.....
In recent college football history (dating back to 2000), only one coach was with their team for longer than five years before winning the National Title. Mack Brown won it in his 8th year at Texas.
If you take away Saban winning his second NC in his 5th year at Bama last year, Brown is the only coach who needed more than 4 years to win a national title at his school since 2000.
Bo is in his 5th year and while I do believe he has done an admirable job in resurrecting this program, I don't feel like we're a national title contender, nor will we be any time soon.
