I don't know about everyone else but it seems prime for us to take the next step. The last couple of years we have been in this spot a few times. After last week, do you think our players have taken that mental step. I think we have the talent, the coaches and the scheme. But the players haven't played consistent enough. Is this the week we get over the hump. Its gut check time!
I keep wanting to have hope we will take the next step but having been wanting it for so long that not sure it will happen. I still think if we could ever break through we could see some good things happen for the program both on the field and in recruiting.
Honestly, no. Consistency issues are still there. I think we would have to finish the season with a bang for us to have truly turned the corner.
Feed me to the wolves, and I will return leader of the pack. #FreeDA
To mediocrity, yeah.
Oath Before Orders
No, we most definitely have not turned the corner.
Gosh I would like to think so... I thought the Ohio State game was going to be that time. Honestly, if we beat Michigan the real test of this team will be if they can handle the success. They've never been able to under Pelini. If they can handle success and finish the season like they need to it could be a HUGE spring board for next season.
If Nebraska could start 4-2 and finish 8-0 going into 2013 the vibe will be really good around the program. But we have to get through this game first, and if we can win, then we have to beat MSU... the most important game is literally always the next one. Let's see if they have finally figured that out.
Exactly,I don't think it comes down to this game. This game is huge..but it's the first step. We are at a AA mentality. One game at a time. One win at a time. GBR let's get this one and move on to the next, at this point in time no win is better then the next.
Turned the corner???? We are barely getting votes in the top 25. Really???
" most important game is the next one."
the question was not are we back. it was have we turned the corner.
You are only wrong on 2 out of 3 on this.
We are coming off a mistake filled game where we had a miraculous comeback against a padestrian Northwestern squad & recruiting is in free fall. What metric could we be turning the corner on?
It's good to be the King.
If we win this it is a step in the right direction but does not mean we have turned the corner. So many things need to happen before we really turn the corner.
cool picture from space
I like your perspective on this. I could only imagine how good it would feel by running the board for the remainder of this year, winning the Rose Bowl, then going into next spring would be great. Doing that would certainly draw top notch recruits which in turn could really turn the NU program around.
These types of changes must begin with the HC.
No, and as others have noted, it will take more than one game to answer that question. If/when the team turns said corner, it would had to have started somewhere and maybe we can look back on the Michigan game and say it was then...
Turning the corner takes consistency, which means time. We can answer that question midway through next season in my opinion. Remember that the current state of the team didn't happen overnight, they have worked hard and been consistent to be what they currently (inconsistent, undisciplined, unfocused, some would say half talented, mistake prone, etc.) are today.
These are my thoughts also. I do hope this will be our turning point. It needs to start somewhere. There is no better place than here, no better time than now.
I would have gone wrong on all 3.
