He's going to be the all time yardage leader in NU history, by a large margin. Say we end up winning a conference title either this year or next, (or both). Do they put #3 up on the South Stadium?
I know he's a much maligned guy, but when he leaves here, he's going to be VERY high up in a lot of categories in our record books.
My initial thought would be, probably not, however if they manage a couple of Rose Bowl appearances (even with a down conference), I think you'd have to consider it.
I LIKE Taylor Martinez. I really do. But...
Absolutely deserves it.
I knew that would be the initial reaction and when the thought initially crossed my mind I thought the same. But, the kid is going to shatter almost every offensive record for a QB.
Also, maybe he's hit his ceiling, I don't know, but if he improves as much between this season and next as he did from last year to this year??
Don't you have to be an all-American to get up there?
One more thing about T-Magic. If he can improve as much next off-season as he did this off-season, watch out.
My first reaction was to laugh, but in all seriousness I sure hope not. Regardless of winning a conference championship and Rose Bowl.
I can't remember everyone up on the stadium, but aren't they Husker Hall of Famers and/or All-Americans? He hasn't earned either of those accolades and I don't see it happening next season either.
He will own most of the offensive and QB stats when all is said and done, as he should after starting for 4 years. Which is the biggest whopper of them all. With that I will shut up and move on.
I don't know how people can think he's reached his ceiling when you consider the improvement between last year and this. TM will be even better next season.
Maybe that's right and if so, that's not happening.
I was just watching the replay of the UM game and they were showing the names up there, that's what made the thought pop into my mind.
It has pretty much been one of the defining characteristics. Also being a member of some outstanding teams that have won conference championships and at least contended for National Championships.
Outside of Tom Novak (4 Time All Conference) and Bob Brown (College and Pro Footbal Hall of Fame), each and every player that has had his number/jersey retired has won a major award in college football (Outland, Lombardi, Heisman, Maxwell, Johnny Unitas, etc.).
Not even Turner Gill or Irving Fryar have had their jerseys retired. It is an elite list filled with players that merited major awards and accomplishments.
A boy, a Twitter page, and the aspiration that you follow him. It's what this country was founded upon.

I like tm and obviously wish him nothing but the best here and after. Even if he won the rose and a NC next year his name would not be on the walls. Am I the only one who thinks his form still looks hideous, why can't he just set his feet and throw instead of hopping around before he throws. Like I said I like the guy but have NEVER seen a qb with form like his.
