Pay him enough and he'd consider it
That guy can identify and build relationships with young talent better than anyone maybe other than Urbz.

The RC position doesn't travel. You need a detail oriented person, who can make sure flights are going out as scheduled, plans events and is at the forefront of recruiting with changes and trends.
Hiring Zook or Steele doesn't exactly make sense for those positions, because they are office based. You want those guys out on the road making connections. Not tethered to the phone in an office.

So the actual RC position is more of an Admin Assistant position then? I thought that would be the RC's staff duties, not theirs.
Dang, i really could do the RC position....
What do you think, Mike? With the evaporation of the rules, I imagine the recruiting department could be restructured most any way one chooses. If we had a chance to get Zook (and actually wanted him) couldn't positions and responsibilities shuffle so as to work for him?
It's still unclear to me if a guy like Zook can actually go on the road. He'd be a fantastic set of eyes to evaluate and I don't doubt his ability to maintain relationships, but to do that from an office is very tough.
Would someone like Joe Moglia make sense if it is a detail type position running a fairly large staff?
Good call! I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks. I'm sure we could pay him more than he is getting at coastal Carolina. And the man is definately able to run the show, with football background...good name to throw out there and welcome to the BYC
Not that he needs the $ but he might want to come back

The rule I read seemed pretty cut and dry, the RC can't travel. I didn't see anything regarding recruiting during visits or over the phone though. They could also use their contacts to set up visits for other assistants.
What is the NCAA's policy on Skype or Facetime? That could be a valuable tool as well for the RC.
So the recruiting coordinator may not be able to recruit...?
Interesting. Gotta love the NCAA.
Would the RC be able to make contact while the recruit is on campus?
I'm guessing he'd rather be a coach than anything else.
Maybe he's fallen on hard times....?
I asked...NICELY...for help. The off-staff RC position had gone away, right? The duties fell onto a FT coach with "some" help from Operations, etc... Right? Now it's coming back? Please...ahem...ANYONE correct any of the above that are misstatements.
