Northwestern with more preseason hype? Really? Better than Nebraska?
Glad people see that this team is good finally but to put them above Nebraska is silly.
CBS Sports has a surprise waiting for you at the No. 1 spot in its latest preseason top 25 rankings for the 2013 season.
Teein' Off on Links
If all of these websites had teams ranked in the same range they wouldn't get any page views. The only thing that matters is the actual pre-season ranking and that will likely be in the top 20.
I hope Bama takes A&M to the woodshed next season. I'm already annoyed with them
Think Northwestern's ranking is about right. I personally think Nebraska is underrated there, but after our last couple of seasons, I don't really blame them.
This guy is either trying to just be controversial or took stupid pills just before sitting down at the laptop.
Neither NW or KSU will be better than Nebraska;
There's nothing about LSU to suggest they would have that much of a fall off, even if you assume they lose to both Bama and LSU (or any 2 SEC teams);
What on earth would cause someone to be so optimistic about Texas with the talent they have at the skill positions, particularly QB?
He apparently is presuming that Clemson will beat FSU, finally, but why would that be the case based on history and Dabo still the coach? If so, likely FSU's only loss but VT will be a lot better next year as that youth grew a lot this year. It had to. VT will be in the top 25.
I hold both Sumlin and Manziel in very high esteem, but it would be a significant accomplishment to not only beat Bama 2 years in a row (it is a home game), but also just to avoid a general let down altogether in the face of heightened expectations in the second year for both. That rarely happens. They will be successful no doubt but every coach on their schedule next year is spending a decent portion of the winter devising different strategies to stump them. They are a target and some will take them down. I would bet they have 2 losses next year just because of that.
They usually do the game tape reviews during the summer. This time of the year it is all about closing the recruiting class and then evaluating for the 2014 class from Feb. through April.
If we had won our bowl game or made it to the rose bowl we would be higher than NW. That's the difference between closing and not closing. NW has done more in big moments the last month
