When the NFL began considering expansion to Texas, Redskin owner Georgre Preston Marshall strongly opposed the move, as he had enjoyed a monopoly in the South for three decades (apart from the one-year appearance of the Dallas Texans in 1952). Potential owner Clint Murchison, who was trying to bring the NFL to Dallas, bought the rights to "Hail to the Redskins" from a disgruntled Breeskin and threatened to prevent Marshall from playing it at games. Marshall agreed to back Murchison's bid, Murchison gave him back the rights to the song, and the Dallas Cowboys were born.
A boy, a Twitter page, and the aspiration that you follow him. It's what this country was founded upon.
A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!
Or, in this case, a song.
Right now, I'd say LSU v Alabama.

Goal in life is to save America from Obamacare
Got to give some love to crazy soccer rivalries. Celtic-Rangers. The rivalry runs so much deeper than the field of play. It's cultural. It's religious (protestant v catholic). The entire city of Glasgow shuts down whenever they play. River-Boca (in Buenos Aires) is up there too. The current quality of play in Real Madrid-Barcelona is unprecedented in the soccer world. At the national level, Brazil-Argentina is nuts.
In the US, definitely think college has the most heated rivalries.
God vs. Satan
What sport do they play?
In this vein, Secretariat v Sham was actually quite the rivalry. In any other year, Sham is probably a triple crown winner - just happened to come up against the greatest race horse in history. He finished second in the first two legs of the triple crown and then in the Belmont, I think the pressure to beat Secretariat just got to the owner-trainer-jockey, and it was just a bad race plan to try to simply outrun Secretariat. I realize hindsight is 20/20 but Sham probably beats every other horse in that race if Secretariat isn't in the race and Sham can just run a normal race.
I remember Alydar/Affirmed - tremendous races! Trouble was, I was rooting for Alydar
