Who do you see as the best defensive player for our Huskers in 2013?
We obviously need some...,
who is the 'it' guy?
No need to spell it out, you all know the guys.
I think the best defensive player probably won't be a starter at the beginning of the season: Charles Jackson
The most solid player will be Ciante Evans.
Jonathon Rose will be our best D player.
Kevin Williams will be our most important D player.
I predict it will either be Ciante or Zaire. My dream would be that it's Valentine.
Teein' Off on Links
Gregory or Zaire
Zaire or Santos
ZA and Gregory
Joey Felici, hands down

Valentine has the potential to the the man, but he doesn't have the stamina. I don't think he will be "the guy" though. Still has a ton to learn and needs to play every play 100%.
Moss once refined is going to be fun to watch, he just hasn't played enough to be reliable. He will make big plays that are going to turn some heads.
Evans is probably the most consistant, but I still dont' see him being the face of the D.
I can't say anything about the incoming frosh coming in besides what the coaches say about them. I won't bring them into the mix
CJ, swimming in the mental side of things... the move to SS/FS is going to be for the better, but that is a extremely demanding role especially mentally
I think it should come down to 2 people in Thad and Ankrah, but I don't think either will be able to do it.
Its going to come down to a LB'er (ala Lavonte David esk)
My money is on Santos
Jonathan Rose would be my guess based on coaches thoughts.
"In the deed, the glory"
To me, it's quite clear that Ciante Evans is the only known commodity that you can put your money on.
Everyone else is a crap shoot, at best. Other guys may get the job done or shine, but you don't know that today.
Ciante makes some great plays, but he is surely not the best on the field. Yes you know what you have in him, and thats all well and good. That doesn't mean he is going to be the "star" of the D.
I hear ya, but like i said, if i was putting money on anyone, it would without question be Evans more than anyone.
I think with his talent, experience, and 4th year in the system, he is going to shine.
There may very well be more athletic guys, but their inexperience will not allow them to be the best defensive guy in the end.
I completely understand your viewpoint and the angle your taking... that said I would love to make a wager with ya that Ciante WONT be the D star this year.
I think Thomas brown is going to be a great player guy will never come off the field. Now watch the guy won't even start haha
I guess it all depends on what the criteria is, but I game for that.
Tough bet to take when Ciante isn't even technically a starter as he is our Nickel.
True, but he will be one of those guys where they keep him on the field as much as possible.
Thomas Brown is my prediction
Santos and Michael Rose. These guys are serious and run to the ball. Love maybe. Incoming Beast is Newby the linebacker.
Haha someone is excited about linebackers
fantastic pick... from all the hype we've been hearing about him I'd be disappointed if he wasn't electrifying next season.
Brown's not even with the ones right now
last I heard it was Anderson, Santos, Brown running with the ones... who took Brown's spot?
Pretty sure afalava has been with the ones at buck the last week or so
