The sports saloon at Ninth and Q streets, reopened under new ownership last fall, infringed on the University of Nebraska's trademark with its tagline and was told shortly thereafter to
wow kind of nitpicky by university but its there right i guess
NEBRASKA FOOTBALL= Great Players, Great Coaches, AMAZING PEOPLE
Stupid, why are they picking on one business when there are hundreds in the state that use "Husker" in some form or fashion?
Idlove to know the petty politics involved in this one.

For when Huskers Illustrated will have to change our name

Goal in life is to make the Huskers Illustrated Hall Of Fame
Me too. I mean Husker auto off the top of my head. Cornhusker hotel.. not sure why they went after Barrys
Maybe some of those places have paid a licensing fee to use the name Huskers in the stuff....
Its owned by Mizzu fans if I am not mistaken. I don't wanna see Mizzu of all fan bases making money off of Nebraska.
"In the deed, the glory"
The Cornhusker has had a long standing relationship with the University and I'm pretty sure Husker Auto has multiple season tickets for just about all Husker sports while also being a donater to Nebraska athletics.
Argh! I just tried to post a lengthy explanation and received the "Oops!" error message.
What I was saying was that this article just might allow one to come to a misguided conclusion; the University of Nebraska does not have an exclusive right to the work Husker, but controls it within certain contexts. If someone is intentionally trying to appear as if they are aligned, endorsed or otherwise affiliated with the school then they will get shut down. If someone in Aurora wants to call their HVAC company "Husker Heat-N-Air", they can. They just can't do it with the N being the Nebraska logo nor could they utilize an image of a football player on their truck. Husker, and its longer version, cornhusker, are endemic to the lexicon of American farmers. No one owns the word. Just as the word "longhorn" refers to a particular breed of cattle, it is obviously also the mascot of the University of Texas. It therefore is controlled in certain situations as well.

Nebraska Old Gold Knights
Why is there not a massive protest in front of the AD a la occupy wall street?!?! :)
It's good to be the King.
BECAUSE IT IS OWNED BY MIZZU FANS!!!!!!!!
Because Nebraska is stuck in prohibition and doesn't want to be associated with alcohol
from what ive learned, seems there is some actual truth to this statement.
Not hard to read between the lines in that article
"My understanding is, if it's a Husker Muffler, they kind of look the other way."
