This thread is unbelievable.
Klein, its useless even fighting it, they are not going to change their minds and neither are us Bo supporters. Humble went off with a little backing from another negative poster "oh look one other person agrees with me, lets point out every mistake our coach has ever made".... they just couldnt handle all the positive vibes around here.
Some people will always see the negative side of things, and there is no way around it. Its easy to point out flaws and grind on them, so when we lose a few games ( like 99% of college teams do a year) they can say hey i told you so. Then when we win they stay away for a few day. Its funny because when we lose i think alot of people stay away for a few days to avoid reading this BS, and when we win i think the others stay away to avoid all the sunshine pumping.
I think your wrong. If I'm away its because I have things to do. I am here win or lose.
And where in this world does everyone agree? Point it out to me. Please? And I have seen the majority of this board agree with the, what you call negative, this season.
Oath Before Orders
I only count the 3 people that have been mentioned above. I read somewhere you were leaving? In fact i remember you posting a last post....twice
BTW just found out we are the only team to rush for 300 or more on a Dantonio coached team, not that you care just an FYI to those that do. I dont understand the Barney hate either, #6 rushing in the country top 12 total offense before the MSU game, leading the Big 10 in every major statisitcal category, yep lets fire everyone and start over. 09', 10', defense and we are undefeated...easily
Not at all, I just remember the rumors from last year is all.
What a load of crap
These guys so blinded by hatred of Bo rooting against "their team" is an absolute embarrassment. What a joke.
Sorry, but no, he is not.
IF someone was as close to the program as he has stated, then Bo simply wouldn't be our coach right now.
What MK knows is people tied to the program due to Milt Tenopir. Nothing more, nothing less. He knows former coaches and former players. We all hear their grand input on a myriad of radio shows and statements that have been made over the past 5 years.
Milt is our former 'all world' OL coach that wanted to give input into our OL blocking and schemes. Our current staff acknowledged his outreach, but didn't feel they needed to go down that road because we aren't running an I-Formation Power Running offense. No coaching staff needs former caoches looking over their shoulder for input regardless of what anybody may want to believe.
Milt is nothing more than a disgruntled former OL coach with a great legacy to his credit, but in reality is a man whose opinion isn't really relevant anymore.
Could he teach Barney and crew how to block a Zone Read? No. He could teach them how to teach trap blocking and power running, but we don't do that right now. At least not that much that it would make much difference. It isn't what we are right now. Barney and Garrison are good enough to coach that kind of stuff, it is the stretch and zone blocking schemes that we are looking to run that they need some help.
Be very careful in what you are led to believe is 'inside' information regarding Husker football. You listen to Jason Peter enough, and you would think we are in dead last in the Big 10 right now and as far away from competing for a Rose Bowl bid that we were Iowa.
There are some things that MK says are very worthy. There are also many things that are hearsay from 3rd source and put into a negative fashion. There aren't many people outside of the coaching staff that know Bo personally, nor any of our current coaching staff that any 'insider' could talk to on a regular fashion to get an honest input. That, I am 100% positive about.
Our current coaching staff is as tight-lipped towards outsiders as we have ever seen at Nebraska in the hisory of our program. Anybody claiming 'negative inside information' is either hearing it from the Athletic Department, former coaches, former players, or current disgruntled players, or are spinning into what they want to hear or say.
But hey, what do I know?
Milt likes the staff.
I do know former players most of whom are disgruntled.
I do know current players
I get a little that's it a little inside knowledge.
I just have my opinions
BTW. The staff asked milt to come down not the other way around.
Milt zone blocked a ton in his day
Milt isn't disgruntled at all. Likes the staff and only helps when asked. Endorsed garrison
Cooks for all the coaches at coaches clinics at staff request
My views don't reflect his always
This is so true. For all the clamoring about "inside" information, there really is none. Bo keeps his own counsel. What you hear on all the boards from "insiders" may be from inside the program, but it is almost never from Bo himself and it is quite often inaccurate. I have even found that those that watch practices come away with impressions that are not correct.
I know, ridiculous
If the "pot stirrers" want a little more respect for their opinions, I suggest they wait for the next loss. That way you won't sound like you're giving a eulogy at a wedding.
There's a time for everything, and there's a few people who are utterly clueless in that regard.
I don't talk to Bo. Never claimed I did. I am obviously in the minority but u just don't think he is a good coach. Big deal
None of what I said related to inside info of any kind.
You don't like my opinion. Fine. I don't dislike yours. I just don't agree.
Any "inside" info I get relates to personnel changes or scheme for upcoming games which I share as general knowledge
You have your opinion and I mine. I for one value all of yours because that is what makes this board tick
I do take some stuff personal like people disparaging milt in this thread about stuff they have no clue about.
Milt could teach this offense in his sleep better than our current coaches and not once has he volunteered his services. Not once
P. S. milt used a ton of zone blocking. A ton
meyerkids... you and I don't see eye to eye on this issue... like... at all. But thanks for making sure everyone knows it's your opinion and not inside info. That is valuable. You could try to swing people your way by claiming "inside info" but you do not, that I respect.
On the other hand, I think that the truth with this coaching staff is somewhere in the middle regarding these two sides. Taylor is a microcosm of Bo... sometimes genius, sometimes WTH! That being said I think Bo "looking" for other jobs has been blown way out of proportion. Unless it's the NFL, OSU or LSU I don't see it happening.
No. He didn't. Please point directly to a single game in which we used zone blocking outside of the option part of our offense. Which is a stretch as well.
The option game wasn't zone blocking back in his day. It was pulling and getting to the 2nd level with your Center and Guards unless they were pulling.
You can call it zone blocking all you want, but it isn't stretch play zone blocking or anything close to being zone blocking in the zone read running game.
No looking at other jobs was intelligent as it got him big pay raises
I think Bo leaves of his own accord. Eichorst or should I say Perlman won't give Bo his standard pay raise and extension. They are not going to give Bo free reign as TO does.
I think it will piss Bo off
I don't think Bo likes the vacuum that is Husker football
He used inside zone blocking all the time. Straight from his mouth
Your telling me that you don't think Milt could coach in this offense. Really?
That is outright silly
Meyerskid speaks the truth.
It's good to be the King.
Now that is probably the most real and honest opinion you have ever given, and I completely agree.
Perlman is on the hook right now. Anybody that hasn't noticed that he has been around since the Solich and Pederson days is completely blind to the overall situation.
I've always been completely taken back as to how he has come out of all of the past 12 years with some kind of shiny record as our Chancellor. Somehow the whole Pederson hire that was recommended and approved by our current AD, was also approved by our current Chancellor. Our current Chancellor also had the ultimate decision on firing Solich.
How he has escaped criticism this long is baffling to say the least. Especially for a former chair of the BCS.
Milt could not coach this offense.
Milt was arguable the greatest OL coach in college football history, he could coach just fine in this offense.
Oh no, Skers you digging a hole your not going to be able to get out of. Milt's coaching ability is flat out untouchable when it comes to OL blocking.
But wow this thread went off on a tangent didn't it.
"In the deed, the glory"
Sometimes people are too close to realize the reality of the situation from a former 'great'. Especially if a guy in on your Board of Directors.
Milt is far from being untouchable as you would like to think.
How is Uncle Milty doing by the way? Always liked the guy, and he can sure weave a tale.
