Is it 9, 10, 11, 12 wins... or more?
Is it a B1G Championship?
Is it a BCS bowl game and/or BCS bowl game victory?
What do you feel grades out to be a successful season for our Huskers this year?
Also, what do you feel 2013 would/should be claimed as a failure or falling short of your expectations?
Good thread, hopefully no one starts flaming to hard
For me it has to be a Big 10 championship. Although, I would be okay with an at large BCS game if we were to win it. But idk if the Big 10 will get two BCS games.
11 wins and then a spot in the CCG
I don't know if I can put a number on it this year.
I am going to judge this year on developement of young talent. This year is a year, more than most, where coaching will be at a premium.
1. I will look for growth in the front side of the defense.
2. I will look for growth from Taylor in his ability to read coverages and dissect defenses.
3. I will look for improved play from the defensive backs when the ball is in the air.
These three things all need improvement and are the things holding us back from competing at a higher level. These things, if improved, allow us to be in every game and eliminate blow out tht we have experienced over the last 2 years. I will judge this year on coaching and the staffs ability to get these kids to the next level. I'm not sure we win the B1G, even with improvememt in each of these areas. But I know that these are the steps needed to grow as a team and consistsntly compete with the best teams in the nation.
That being said, anything less than 10 wins is a major disappointment.

9-10 wins...decent season but more of the same.
11 wins and/or a conference championship is a step forward
Senior QB and the weapons we have join offense, anything less than breaking our 13 year conference championship streak is going to be disappointing to me. The parts and pieces are there, it's time to clear this 10 win hump.
11 wins. If we get to 11 wins that would mean we either won CCG or we beat a good SEC team on a national stage. I'd take either
I am still steadfast that Nebraska is about winning championships. No B1G championship equals a so-so year.
It's good to be the King.
I'm with Coach Pelini, our football is about winning championships. This is the standard for each season. Ten wins and a New Years Bowl game is nice but trophys are needed.
Successful year with the schedule we have? Better be an 11 win season with a conference title game appearance at the least.
Conference Championship or bust. Not going to an away game this year, saving my money for Indy and the partying after the victory.
Not much to disagree with here. B1G championship or bust.
Put me in the 11 win/B1GCC group. Too many things going for us this season not to breakout this season. It's time to actually win something.
Feed me to the wolves, and I will return leader of the pack. #FreeDA
11 Wins min. in Reg. Season + CCG win.
Anything else is just a failure,
Bamboo, or else...
what about 12-0 with a loss in the CCG but a BCS bowl berth?
Given the schedule and offensive talent returning, those things considered nothing short of a B1G title game birth and a BCS atlarge IMO.
11 wins minimum, 12 is the bar, 13 is progress in my eyes.
"In the deed, the glory"
B1G Championship .

Expect 11 wins, no blowout losses, and a close loss in the B1G CCG.
Winning a BCS bowl game would be a great season.
pretty much how I see. I know it gets old but he has not won anything yet.
It is a failure.
I would rather go 10-2 and win the Big ten, than 12-0 and win Nothing.
Sadly, the problems in Nebraska are in the coaching offices and the fans that sit in the seats and defend them.
I'm pretty much in agreement with this but think it only half the equation. 2 things I would change. These would be my 2, 3 and 4. #1 would be a dramatic improvement on special teams. There will not be an overall improvement in performance and a change in the win total without that. Also, in the #2 here has to be an element of a true open competition at QB where TA is given a chance to win the job. If TM wins the competition, so be it, but that will make him better. He can't be allowed to be the defacto starter with his track record.
The second part of the equation to me has to be a change in perception of the program, which is directly tied to wins. We've been stuck at 10 way too long. The staff has started to change that perception on the recruiting trail but that has to be translated into wins to keep the momentum going. So success to me is 12 wins or more, including a bowl win, which is very realistic with the schedule we have. I really want that to include a conference championship, and it should but I think perception nationally hinges more on that last game in the bowl.
BCS Title or bust!
For Real though.. 11 Wins and BIG
