It starts tomorrow......who do you hope\see your team going after?
For Jacksonville id love to see them resign Derek Cox and maybe take a flyer on a Brent Grimes to help with secondary and while it probably won't happen Cliff Avril would sure help with rushing the qb
Goal in life is to make the Huskers Illustrated Hall Of Fame
Figure out the LT, RB, CB situation. Land Mike Wallace.
Sounds like Miami is the favorites
I'm hoping the lions go after Reggie bush and the top secondary players.
Yeah, that's what I'm hearing. No offense to Brian Hartline, but we need a really dangerous threat on the outside.
@Dr. Dumpster, Reggie did pretty well in his time here. I know he's had some knocks, but he performed pretty well with a change of scenery.
If Brent Grimes recovers he'll be a hell of a pick up. If I were the Jags I would trade Blaine Gabbert to a CFL team for cash.
I'm a Cowboys fan. We had to re-structure a lot of deals in order to put the franchise tag on Anthony Spencer. He's excellent in the run and is coming off a career year as a pass rusher (11 sacks). However, he's probably not worth his $10M+ cap value and is considered a bit undersized for his transition for 3-4 OLB to 4-3 DE.
I hope we are able to re-structure Anthony Spencer's contract and keep him. I think he'll do just fine at defensive end and I think he'll be a valuable player in the organization for a long time. It might limit us in free agency, but the team is primed to win now and losing him only creates more need - especially in DeMarcus Ware's penchant for getting injured as of late.
If we can't re-work his deal, we're going to have to cut someone. Probably Doug Free and/or one of the guards we signed to a ridiculous deal last year. That'll hopefully save us just enough to sign some lower priority free agents, draft picks, and rookie free agents.
If we can re-structure the contract, we can probably look towards signing one mid-level free agent without having to cut anyone. Although I probably would not be opposed to cutting one of the overpriced guards from a year ago. Dallas needs to address their offensive line and safety. Their first round pick must be one or the other and if they can land a mid-level free agent it must be one or the other.
Personally, I've never been a fan of taking a guard in the first round. Interior linemen are not high value picks. Typically, scouts are of the opinion that because guards are players that are less athletic and required to do less that you should at the very least wait until the end of round 1 to take them. After watching Dallas fail to put together a solid run game for the past decade, I'll be jumping for joy if the Cowboys can land either Chance Womack or Jon Cooper in the draft. That's who I've been cheering for all along.
Unfortunately, the need to re-sign Spencer forced Dallas to cut long time start Gerald Sensabaugh. He won't exactly be missed, but now we have a huge hole at safety. The free agent market for guards is better, younger, and more affordable than that for safety. Maybe they spend more money at guard this offeseason and shoot for Kenny Vaccaro.
It's the most realistic move but it's not what the Cowboys need to get them over 8-8.
A boy, a Twitter page, and the aspiration that you follow him. It's what this country was founded upon.
@Cleetus looks like Caldwell and Co are giving Blaine another shot, and i agree if Grimes can comer back from his injury he could be the steal of the offseason
And isn't Dallas way over the cap?
Ya he broke 1000 one year and we need a speed back to replace Jahvid Best. Given the scenery wont be near as nice i think he could fit into the lions O well. Hes got good hands out of the backfield. One safety I'd like them to get would be Adrian Wilson from Arizona. I always thought he was pretty good.
Blaine Gabbert is the check down champion and will never resort to anything.
Dallas is about $2M over the cap after re-structuring deals with like half it's roster, franchising Anthony Spencer, and cutting Gerald Sensabaugh. They are currently trying to re-work a new deal with Tony Romo that will also be more cap friendly.
Worst comes to worse they will re-structure more deals or cut guys like Doug Free to make more room. They're not going to make any big splashes in free agency. Best case scenario is they get one mid-level guy.
O i agree with you when they drafted Blaine i couldn't believe it especially trading up to get him blew my mind
Gabbert is actually the worst rated quarterback I've ever had that was taken in the first round. I think everyone in Big 12 country who ever watched him play just scratched their head at his hype.
The term "system quarterback" is usually one that is used out of context or excessively, but Blaine Gabbert is the denotation of a system quarterback.

I actually really wanted Jacksonville to draft Kapernick in that draft and groom him a year or two with Garrard starting

Your welcome Mike
Heard a few rumbles the other day that Denver was looking at Revis in a trade scenario. I would be downright tickled in that case. Gotta get a running back too.
Trade you Gerhart for a John Elway poster?
I've got multiple. Which one are we talking here.
As a Chiefs fan I'm happy they signed D-Bowe and Colquitt to long term deals and are still trying to sign Brandon Alberts to a long deal. Plus the fact they were able to get Alex Smith. Mark it up as a good off season for them. Would be nice to get a guy like Grimes to play opposite Brandon Flowers (since they let Brandon Carr go last year when they had the cap space).
I like the fact KC kept those three and, I may be mistaken, but I don't believe they broke the bank to keep them.
I must admit I've never been an Alex Smith fan and wouldn't be surprised if he regressed without Harbaugh's tutelage. However, they didn't have to give up a whole lot for him and if anyone get the most out of him it would be a guy like Andy Reid. Not to mention the quarterback market is extremely bare this offseason.
I have to admit I was one of those people that had KC at like 8-8 or 9-7. I thought the West was going to be really competitive last season. Egg. On. My. Face.
You weren't the only one thinking that last year about KC. I like that KC also went out and got Reid. He will be able to get more out of Smith. If the Chiefs get any production out of the QB spot they will be a better team. That and limit the turnovers.
I'm enjoying the change with the FA timing. Kind of fun to follow twitter today.
I was a big Kap fan coming out of college. Mostly cuz id just burn people online using the Wolfpack. They'd use Michican or Oregon or something and id march out with the wolfpack and immediately hear the trashtalk. Then i'd run up the score and see if they could keep up. Most of my games were like 49 - 42. Wolfpack ain't got no D
but then again, i thought Gabbert was pretty solid as well. I really think its all about being in the right situation. Gabbert got screwed.

Teein' Off on Links
KC had the worst luck with injuries last year. If you told me last august that they'd have the first overall pick, i would have slapped you like a b****.
Alright, wheres Blitz at.
Bears are doing very well so far in FA.
Signed capable TE, Martellus Bennet and capable LT Jerome Bushrod. This should help Cutler greatly moving forward.
Also, it looks like they could pick up veteran gaurd Barndon Moore.
Solid moves that will improve the team. Wish we could have signed Greg Jemmings somehow, but i knew it was a longshot and someone is going to overpay him.
Regress from Harbaugh to Andy Reid?? Ha!! Yeah I don't think so.
Doesn't matter for me though, the chiefs signed Chase Daniels, so I quit being a fan as of 3/12/13. I'm out!
Feel like the Broncos upgraded at offensive guard today.
The San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts were considered the favorites to sign powerful guard Louis Vasquez. Instead, the Denver Broncos stole him away to help protect Peyton Manning.
