    Composite Star Ranking...........................................................(3.29)
    Composite Team Ranking...........................................................#21

    Notes:
    7/02
As of 7/02, over half the class (7), has been ranked a 4 star recruit on one service or another.
The two most highly ranked players at Scout (Lacouture and Natter) are 3 stars at the other two sites. These two may go higher on Rivals and 247 as time goes by.

    7/10
Stanton is a high 3, borderline 4 Star recruit at Rivals, and a mid to high 3 Star at Scout.
Despite the apparent differences in opinion from the 3 services, as of 7/10 they all rank Nebraska #20 in their team rankings.

    7/13
    Updated per Lacouture going 4*.
Current composite star ranking of 3.28 is very solid, but it would be higher yet (3.38) without the rare presence of a long snapper in the group. These guys never get rated in quite the same context as other position players.
    Updated per Trevell Dixon de-commit.

    8/13
Updated per Cook and Hannon Commits
Samuelson upgraded to 4* on Scout (also Stanton and Banderas)
Over half the class (8) has been rated 4* on one site or another

  • Update bump....

And do I think one site looks at how the others rank a player?

    Yes, I do...

  • I think I may have overlooked the the McWilson commit as he is the only unanimous four star. No matter how you break it down according to services it equals four stars. I think we end up with six in the class to this point most likely. Both Lacouture and Natter are very big young men and going to progress in my opinion.

  • Honestly I have no idea how Scout evaluates its players. To be honest I think they lack the man power to do as well as 247 and Rivals across the board but the evaluators they do have seem to be top notch. As opposed to ESPN whose evaluators are mostly a sham.

I know Scout gives points based on which teams have offered a player and how many have offered, in addition to any scouting they may have actually done. That's one of the reasons why Lacouture is rated so highly by Scout. His offer list included AL, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Okie State, Texas, A&M, TT, Baylor and Utah. That's an impressive list.

They tend downgrade players that commit early on and don't have a deep offer list.

I don't quite understand how Rivals and Scout only give him three stars.

Scout is only exceeded by ESPN as having the worst analysts on ratings. They've been a joke for years.

  • Well, based on average rating, Nebraska is #16n right now. One five star would put us in the top ten.

Frankly, I had never even bothered to look at Scout or Rivals until he gave his verbal. I figured everyone here was so high on the kid, he had to be a 4* across the board. Not so.

I think he's close enough to go 4* on Rivals during the season. Scout would have to change their tune quite a bit for him to end up a 4* over there.
