Colin Kaepernick and Taylor Martinez

  • Taylor Martinez can be the next Kaepernick if he improves his passing game this year. No he's not Collin but his running style and speed off the corners could well give him that look like Kaepernick.

Has Taylor gone to any passing camps this year at all to improve his passing technics anyone knows?

  • Taylor is not close to being Kapernick throwing. Kapernick has a very strong arm. Taylor is not an NFL QB.

  • UV...its an interesting conversation. I will toss in pocket presence and the ability to move laterally as an additional area of improvement.

Still in school, so no. During the summer perhaps.

  • No. He can't and he won't be the next Colin Kaepernick.

First of all, from a physical standpoint the 2 aren't even close.

Kaepernick is an NFL combine measured 6'5" and 233 pounds. Taylor is listed at 6'1" 210 pounds. Rex Burkhead was listed at 5'11" during his entire career at Nebraska. He measured out at 5'10" at the combine. Taylor may not even be 6'0" when it comes to his combine measurement.

Kaepernick is much stronger and much more physical than Taylor. That isn't even questionable. His arm is also vastly superior to that of Taylor. Again, not even questionable. Kaepernick doesn't fumble, doesn't have a hitch in his throwing motion, and has poise in the pocket.

There will not be a single GM or Scout from the NFL that will take a 2nd look at Taylor playing QB in the NFL. Not sure that Taylor will even get a serious look at any position in the NFL, even at WR or Safety.

Nick Florence from Baylor wasn't even considered a legitimate NFL QB. He is 6'1" and 205 pounds and threw for over 4,300 yards and 33 TDs last year.

  • The thing that will hold TM Back is his in game management. He is not a NFL mind. He doesn't think like an NFL quarterback and simply can't produce results an NFL Scout is looking for.

He's not an NFL QB but he has the skills to make it to the NFL. I think his Dad will be his agent.sarcasm

It is always a good thing when players try to improve themselves. Nice going TM.

  • I thought TM's improvement from sophomoe to junior year was huge. I have high hopes for him this year.

With that said Martinez is not a NFL quarterback. I'm actually not even sure where I see Martinez fitting in the NFL at all. Kick return specialist is the only way I could see him making a roster in the bigs.

He is injury prone, too small, poor footwork, isn't really impressive with his lateral ability as a runner, does not have a strong arm, is often inaccurate, has a poor delivery, fumbles constantly, has poor pocket awareness, and probably lacks the mental make up.

Maybe he'll make a career in Canada or the new USFL.

Do you get that feeling like some of the people on here think that their voice is the only important voice and you can't post anything without their "respect for something". It's just ludicrous and it's funny to see there no comment BS. Haha. Poor fruit. Keep posting America let your voice be heard.
