That is not true. I would feel much more comfortable with Bo as a hc with an excellent staff underneath him a la Michigan for example.

Don't worry about DA. All he has got is trying to shout everyone down vs. having a legit debate. It is what it is.

Yes, countering nonsense with facts is trying to shout down everyone. banghead

  • Looks like Bailey chose playing time over possible conference championships, BCS bowl games and a run or two at a national title. I wish him well.

  • Wow. Ask a question about if the OC track record is that extensive and I get branded as a "reactionary". Didn't know the criteria was that easy to meet.

Is Beck's track record really that extensive? The only QB I can think of associated with Coach Beck is Todd Reesing at Kansas now 5 years ago.

In answer to your original question, no Beck's track record isn't that extensive, although he has been coaching for quite some time.

We don't know yet how well he can be at developing QBs or calling plays. We should have a much clearer picture after the next couple of years.

I think it's too early to be passing judgement on how well he's doing so far, but that's just me.

That is a reasonable answer. I would like to think that these 4-star guys heading elsewhere are making their decisions based on playing time chances rather than questions about the coaching they'd get. I do think with a lot of these players the primary question is how early they'll see the field.

Wait, wait, wait... Didn't you just argue with me like crazy within the past day or so that Beck isn't a green OC? biggrin

Exactly how many QBs has Pelini had during his tenure? Joey Ganz finished out 2008, and did just fine, but that was on Watson, I suppose.

The next season we had a choice between Zac Lee and Cody Green, a juco and a freshman. Juco's are brought in because they already have a certain amount of development, and Zac didn't do too badly considering that everybody on that team kept giving the ball back to the opponents.

The very next season, TM won the job.

Altogether that makes one QB that this staff has been developing. How on earth can you evaluate how well they have developed QBs on the basis of one guy?

    fail

What does that prove about QB recruiting under Bo? fail

Actually, no I didn't. Go back and take a closer look at that thread.

I was arguing that it's too soon to determine how good he is as an OC. As an assistant coach, he has tons of experience, and the argument centered around the lack of experience of Bo's staff, not simply Beck as an OC.
