I haven't seen anything, but if it is true, good for him. I think it is easy to forget that the players on the field are still young men. If my boy played football for the Huskers and he caught half of the flak that TM has received I know for a fact i wouldn't take it very well.

I get that they are players and they receive a free education, but my sister received a free education at Nebraska and I don't remember anyone ever bad mouthing her because she had a tough time with with a computer programming class.

I think I know the name Casey Martinez better than some of the players names.

Another thing Tay probably hasn't gotten enough credit for this year - handling his helicopter dad.

Anyone yelling at Casey during this game about Taylor Martinez wasn't watching the game... Martinez made plays... he did turn the ball over (once his knee was down, not sure how that didn't get overturned it was fairly obvious, and the second one was a fantastic play by a LB) but he also made a crap ton of plays. As a dad, i'll defend my son all day long from ignorant drunk fans, even if their kids are also on the team.

I was at the game, sitting in the family section a row below Casey martinez. I could hear a woman talking un-appreciatively of Taylor. Casey finally reached his boiling point, and turned around and said "Why don't you shut the f-word up, you don't know what the f-word your talking about". I turned to look what was going on, and her jaw was dropped. As Casey was berrating her, she responded back "why don't you shut the 'f' up". He proceeded to call her a b-word, and what every woman wants to hear the "c" word (four letters) several times. The familys around were trying to temper the situation, by telling them both to shut up and enjoy the game.

A few plays later, I turned around and saw Casey throwing punches. Several people were trying to hold them back from each other. Casey was pulled back, and fell to the row below him, messing up his knee in the process. I remember Casey complaining his leg may be broke. (it didn't look good from my perspective). I also remember him saying somebody punched him first from behind.

He was carried off by a few guys to get medical attention. I'm not sure what happened to the other party.

I don't condone what happened, but whoever was trash talking about another player in the "player family" section, should have known better. I also didn't think Casey handled it anyways near as I might have. I believe he should have turned around, said, hey, that's my son, please keep your comments to yourself. His grandmaw,grandpaw don't need to hear it also. (they were next to Casey.

No woman needs to be berated that way, and Casey shouldn't have taken a punch from behind like what apparently happened, but what do you expect when you yell at somebody's wife/girlfriend that way.

People need to have some sense if they are sitting in the players family section. And of course the martinez family handles it the wrong way.
