Slot/RB like Kenyan Barner. Not really WR just trying to get him on the field.

I know he loved Heard. He always thought he was the best RB on the team.

That could be what he said, it was when he was the sideline reporter for BTN for one of our games.

Groin injury. He was told he was going to be limited all year, and it was recommended he RS. from someone I trust, don't care if you do.

Kind of hard to determine Heard's true mindset.

From what I understand, Heard was not being asked to change his position entirely, just to take reps at Slot WR as another way of getting him on the field. The Barner reference is a good one. It could have been a way that Beck was going to get Heard on the field more often in different looks where he could have been a receiver, a guy motioning through the backfield for a flash sweep, or what have you. In all frankness, this sounded more like a plan to make Heard a bigger contributor, not relegate him to the lower ranks of another position.

I wonder if Bo, Beck, and Heard have really had a meeting of the minds on this. I also wonder if Heard has already been granted his release and it's too late to discuss it.

Can't say for sure what the real plan for Heard was, but if it was anything like I'm imagining, I would think Bo and Beck could enlighten him about his prospects. Unless he thinks he's a 25 carry a game workhorse RB, which I doubt most of his supporters even think he is. Heard as a RB/WR in a similar mode to what Oregon or West Virginia uses could have been a very good thing for Heard and the Huskers.

Actually... for his size Ameer did very well at that this last year. He at least got in front of the guy and tried to block him.
