CT School Shooting

I disagree with this statement. We have stopped asking, not allowing prayer in school, God to protect our schools by removing God from education. At the heart of these tragedies is EVIL.

I agree somewhat with the media part, but I think it goes deeper. The trophy generation has a "reset" mentality of life, like it's a game. Not blaming video games, but more the virtual world they live in today. There is little to no consequence to their actions. Or, I am just old now.

    Well put dean

Agreed. We are introducing a lot of immoralities into society and pushing them to be ok. Society as a whole is at fault. Government is at blame.

You cannot, should not take people's right of faith away. You should never discipline a kid for praying on school. You should never eliminate the spiritual aspects of life. God. GOD. Don't put him aside. That's where the true problems stem from.

Democrats want civil rights. I have a complete thought that they take it away.

Sad tragedy. My heart goes out to those kids and parents, and teachers. I am a father of six. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain they are feeling. It sickens me. My wife cried tears watching this on tv. The same tears she cried when her father died.

Now, what happens next? Obama pushes for gun sanctions. Take the guns away. The problem is not the guns. It's the people who commit the crimes. He could have just as easily taken a gas can and a lighter in that room and accomplished the same thing. It all goes back to my first paragraph. Guns aren't the problem, society and its immoral beliefs. And it has started with the government. God should never be put second. It all ego and evil that follows when you put human minds first.

I would also add tv and social media as a cause as well.

HuskerSF is absolutely right. Parents need to do more. We are parents, not their friends. Anymore, the kids are in control. That is backwards. The kids friends are their age. What they need is better parents.

Interesting take from the WV homeboard

20+ years ago the trend became that punishing children was not a good thing. It continues to go downhill with Timeout instead of spanking. Then you have the every kid gets a trophy mentality. By the time these people get to 20 they have no idea how to deal with tough times, so they completely snap. I dont think these people are mentally ill, I believe they are so conditioned and coddled from a young age that they cant deal with even the smallest failures. The worst part is that it will continue to get worse. We have created an entire generation of people that cant cope with challenging times.

Spot on. I also agree with what SF and Klein have been saying in this thread. This country is developing such a weak mentality. These tragedies are becoming almost as common as the sun rising.

  • unbelievable. How can someone do that to children? It is bad enough when it happens to adults, but kids as you as 5. No way to even express how angry this makes me...

Sorry HW, I couldn't disagree more. You can be a nonbeliever and still be a good person. Black and white thought processes like this are part of the problem.

Except for those last few paragraphs, that I agree with you on.

All people are good at creation. We were created in the image of God, whether you are a believer in God or not. Unfortunately, we are all corrupted by sin and Evil is real in this world. As people deny God, Evil will consume that void. Unfortunately, this country has allowed and at times promoted the rejection of God.

    Once again, disagree.
