From the comments it sounds like he is not immediately able to hit high-level pitching. That is not too surprising, but it will be the biggest factor on whether he makes it to the majors.
I don't think anyone in the Royals organization is concerned that he can't play the OF at a very high level.

Nobody even came close to expecting him to fast track to KC. He was drafted based on his rare 5 tool abilities being off the freaking charts. Raw, but freakish talent.

I'm not a Royals guy. Were they pretty patient with Moustakas and Hosmer? I remember Gordon playing his way pretty quickly through the system. Guessing they are more careful with Starling because of expectations being from Kansas, etc.

Both Moose and Hos and Gordon to a certain extent were way further ahead of Bubba when they hit the organization as well. I just don't see him getting here for a few years from what I hear. But, he could certainly just blow up and make a joke of minor league pitching too and be here by next year's late season call up period, who knows.

Bumping this thread with an update of where Bubba's at. Off-day in Burlington today.
Hitting .295, 7(2B), 2(3B), 8 HR, 30 RBI, 6 SB in 38 Games at Rookie League Burlington

Those are pretty solid stats. I dont know much about how patient they were with Hosmer and Mous. I think they pushed Gordon through more quickly though because he went through the college ranks. With a high school guy, I guarantee they are willing to wait a couple years. He will get his in time. Still young. I'd give it another two years.
