To be honest, I could see it.
Don't see the offense brin much better than last. Defense may not be worse, but it will lack playmakers and be younger.

Doesn't really offend me. 8-4 is well withing the realm of possibilities this year. Wouldn't really surprise me if that was the record.

Let me guess how this is gonna go:
1. Brock is still upset losing to Nebraska in '97 and hates the Huskers.
2. What does Brock know about the Huskers.
3. He works for ESPN so he has to hate Nebraska.
He gave his opinion. He may end up being right. Up to our Huskers to prove him wrong. Nothing more, nothing less.

Big don't care in this area... Brock Huard is nothing to me and his predictions mean nothing. That's why you play the games, the same reason we don't assume we're going to win a NC when some ESPN pundit says something like that. I recall ESPN analysts and Fox analysts saying there was no way Nebraska was going to go to a bowl game in 08.... see how that worked out.

Can you blame him? He is a former QB, why wouldn't he question Martinez's ability? Everyone is questioning his ability, nothing new. Many Husker fans question his ability. It is entirely possible that is our record, though we do not want to believe it.
Besides Northwestern (I think), it is very conceivable that we lose to the same teams next year. Until we win big games consistently, the fan base will continue to be the only ones with higher optimism.
Me? Provided we make the necessary QB progress, we lose one game this year and win the Big ten Championship
Or worse case scenario, Huard called it.

That I the absolute worst case scenario. I personally think we go 10-3 with a bowl win. BIG Ten Championship happens next year with a senior Martinez.

8-4 worst case... 12-0 best case. I too think it lands somewhere in between 10-2 or 9-3, could see 11-1 as well. But I do think a BCS bowl is in our future this year.

I was rolling when I seen that, but as I said the prediction is possible. I think it is IMPERATIVE that we get a 5-0 start, then I think 9 wins is manageable.
