Brock Huard

  • What was his deal? That was the most biased announcing i have heard in years. He made it a point to berated Nebraska every chance he could. Or was i reading to much into hits comments.

  • I didn't get to hear much of the first half, but I didn't notice anything in the second half. I actually enjoyed his critism of the ticky tac penalty calls. Overall he seemed fair to me.

I agree. Those two didn't even know our players' names. It was JP Smith the entire first half, as well as David Stafford. That's just a lack of preparation and a lack of professionalism if you ask me. Also, on Quincy's catch in the first half, they said it was nice to see him catch that after struggling with a couple of big drops last week. Or something to that effect. Was very disappointed in them tonight.

Brock Huard was Washington's QB in the 1997 matchup with the Huskers in Lincoln. Washington came in ranked #2. Wistrom took out Huard in the first QTR and the Huskers went on to win the game.

    Huard has always been anti-Huskers.

  • I mentioned to my wife that brock was pissed from past events and that was the reason he sounded so biased. He was definitely leaning one way.

I totally forgot that, for some reason i thought he played for Miami. But know i know why he read such a ass bag tonight.

Brock Huard yes i am referring to you; that was pittyful and unprofessional! I guess he's still suffering from the 1997 defeat by Huskers over Huskies and his very brief stunts in NFL!

He was definately biased; did not care for Nebraska and really does not deserve being an announcer / critic! GO HUSKERS!

  • I thought he called a pretty good game last night (and yes, i did watch the entire game). About the second half PF's, I felt that his description of how those penalties are defined and how the refs were calling them across the board was fairly objective... and to be honest, he seemed to be defending NU on most of them. As far as the flag on Pelini, all he was saying is that Bo should not be surprised that he got that flag... not like it's his first rodeo. hahaha, not bashing Bo, but who knows what came out of his mouth after that call (which was pretty bogus).

In addition, it sounded to me like Brock was backing the Huskers in a lot of ways, saying how this was not a consolation win bc Denard was out... that's football and that Pelini had to adjust just like Hoke did... also, it's not like we were playing this game full strength either.

One last nuggett, I lived in Seattle the last three years, where he has a daily show on the local ESPN radio and both times we played the Huskies the last two years he was full of praise and, again, objectivity. Even after the Holiday Bowl, he made comments about how the Huskies may have gotten away with one and probably hadnt gotten the Huskers best shot seeing as how the end of the season turned out, etc, which is true. Really not a Brock Huard "lover" over here, but I was pleasantly surprised at his observations of our games.

    GBR!!!!

  • I thought he was fine. He called b.s. on a penalty that went against Neb & gave us props.

It's good to be the King.

With respect I don't agree with you and believe both announcers seemed against NU and for MU.

But, we're all entitled to our own opinion.

  • He wasn't that bad. But every time they showed him he reminded of Lurch from the Adams Family.

And wasn't he a Heisman candidate prior to our game who never regained his prior status and lost out because of N?
