The amazing thing about Jackson's hip injury is that it should have never happened. For mere mortals like ourselves that event would have blown out our ankle. Easily. But his ankles were just too strong so the shock wave traveled up to his knee.
Blows the knee out, right? Nope. Not his knee. Too strong again. So the shock wave moved further up, amplified and tore up his hip.
So much for the 'sheer pin' theory. The amazing strength of his ankles and knees are a big part of the "freak of nature" label.
