Blake's Takes: Wrapping up 2011

LOL Yep I'm with skers on this one. But Bama has the ability to recruit the large amount of freak athlete bluechip LB's you need to play a 3-4. Nebraska could never recruit for a 3-4 defense.

Illinois runs a version of 3-4, and statistically were T1 for the best total defense in the conference this year.

I would contend that we have much more talent than Illinois and a much better defensive mind to lead them.

Really? Even though they lost their last six?

Sounds like a scheduling aberration to me.

The statistics I'm quoting are strictly B1G conference numbers.

Their defense was never the problem.

Turnovers and offensive woes were a major issue for Illinois this year.

  • Don't post inside jokes to Blake here. You don't want to have them deleted.

  • Blake, what do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of Coach Els in terms or teaching/coaching the LB's?

Is there anything we can hang our hats on knowing we will be the best at?

Thanks in advance sir, much appriciated!
