Dumb on the Big 10's part.

As long as the rest of the NCAA is doing this...the Big 10 shouldn't be making things harder on themselves.

If the NCAA makes a wholesale sweeping change...I'd be in favor of this....but..this doesn't help the Big 10.

Doesn't help if you lose those games.

Doesn't help if you beat yourself up more so that your conference only feasts upon itself during conference play.

The SEC has it down to a science right now.

SEC will continue to put cream puffs up on their schedules late in the year to basically get a week off

Again...not if you lose the game.

If you want to close the gap...doing things like giving 4-year scholarships, making harder schedules are not the way to do it.

SOS could b the difference between #4 and number #5 come tourney time.

Conference strength. No one cares if you beat Colorado State or the State College of Colorado for the blind.

Conference Strength. Computers will take a Kentucky win and a college of the blind win in less regard than an Colorado win Indiana win IMO .

Now Jamrog's hand will be forced to no longer schedule FCS opponents. 2013 will mark the 4th consecutive year we have an FCS opponent on our schedule. The first time in school history.

Combine this with the 9 or 10 game conference schedule and it is obvious the B1G is making a concerted effort to amp up their teams schedules. It will be interesting to see if other conferences follow suit.

So much for the notion that a 9 or 10 game conference schedule will weaken our OOC schedule.

Good to see the B1G stepping forward and taking solid stances on improving college football. Recent news of being against recent recruiting rules changes, adoption of a 9 or 10 game conference schedule, and the elimination of FCS schools from football schedules all points to the B1G being proactive in making college football a better game. Kudos to Delany and the ADs of the B1G.
