  • Just as horrible as Big 12 refs? Discuss.

  • Pretty big difference from being no the road to being at home. No wonder if it so hard to win on the road in this conference

  • You guys got a TD off a bogus late hit call instead of a FG. We got a TD off a bogus PI instead of a FG.

  • Worse called game I have ever watched. At least it was called evenly, they screwed both teams.

  • Awful call on the INT return. That happens almost ALL THE TIME. WTF?

  • Apparently legal blocks are now illegal. Game should've been over at 31-14 after that Pick-6.

they called it unnecessary roughness because it was 20 yards away from the ball on a guy that was just jogging behind the play. That gets called every time someone is dumb enough to make that hit.

I agree. Of all the bad calls this is one I didn't have a problem with. If you are a MSU player you need to keep your head on your shoulders in that situation.

  • The officiating was even today. The PI at the end of the 4th was questionable and called in Nebraska's favor. I love the heart of this team, but imagine if its coach spent the same energy on his team as the officials. Calls aren't going to break your way when the HC is publicly embarrassing the officials.

Officiating is always a grass is greener on the other side discussion, and all calls have seemed to even out this season. The same cannot be said for '10. So let's just enjoy the heart attack Huskers and hope these games keep ending in our favor.

Oh come on. If that same call gets made on NU, you're screaming like a howler monkey.

No argument it was a dumb play, but it had ZERO effect on the play, and wasn't even an illegal hit. I'd argue that it's YOUR guy who should keep his head on a swivel. If you jog around on a football field during live play, you're asking for it.

How about the no-call on the head-shot to our QB? Because our guy called for a hit to the head in the first half for something that was pretty much incidental.

Congrats on the win, fellas, I'd rather see you in the BT title game than um, but we ABSOLUTELY got censored worse than you did today.

Yes, but at least they make bad calls against both teams... B12 refs choose one team, and then pick on them for the entire game.

No, the INS isn't chasing him; Taylor Martinez just runs like that. . . .

We had a very similar call go against us in the NW game. We punted, they fumbled the punt and we recovered but we had a personal foul called 25 yards behind the play which nullified it. To a man we pretty much said it was a dumb play and Stafford needed to keep his head.

  • There was an equal number of bad calls by the refs more or less... it just so happened that we were the beneficiaries of the last one. If it were not for all the calls made on Nebraska on 3rd down stops, Michigan State would not have ever even been in this game... the refs only seem to make calls on Nebraska's defense when they make a 3rd down stop... it's fairly obvious. This keeps the offense on the field, giving them auto first downs. That kills a defense. So in the grand scheme, there were enough horrible calls made both ways that you cannot point to that last call and say that determined the outcome of the game. It was what it was... and all the bad calls made in the middle of the game had just as much effect on the end result as that last call. It's all perception.

Your qb was a ball carrier across the los it was a legal hit. He is no longer a protected player, he is no different than a rb until he starts to slide, which Maxwell didn't.

without that late hit call against Stafford you kick a fg there and wouldn't have even had the lead at the end of the game. It was pathetic all around we just benefitted at the end because that was a bad PI call. They were calling it tight in the secondary all night though and that call was similar to some of ours on your first td.

Helmet-to-helmet is illegal anywhere on the field, no?

Honestly, I'd be fine with that one if not for the other two. It's pretty much the nuts on our the shit sundae we were fed by the refs today. And I'm not talking peanuts.

Just a Spartan's perspective, I wouldn't expect you guys to agree...

Stafford was pushed, but he could've avoided Maxwell, too. He had a big ol' friendly corn-fed band there to break his momentum. I think the refs are going to call that one ten times out of ten. Besides, we still would've had a third down play had it not been called. You never know, our OC pulls his head out of his ass for air once in a while.

I'm sorry, but if you honestly think that hit was illegal you are no better than the refs were tonight. Our guy was going for the tackle, and was going for the waist / hips. The QB was in the process of getting tackled and the helmet to helmet was coincidental.

Both teams have arguements for the was this game was called. The refs were horrible.

I do think they sucked both ways. Just more in your favor. That PI call at the end was horrible. NU is likely to get the tying FG, let the kids decide it OT instead of making something up that didn't happen.
