I like u a lot. Whether milt and I are friends is irrelevant. Take him out of it

Who would you like me to get affidavit's from, in regards to milt's use of zone blocking

How about weigert or weigert or stai or graham or Taylor or hochstein or hosk or true or dishman or raiola or incognito or who

    This is a silly argument

They didn't zone block every play but they did a lot

And yes milt could coach in this offense. To say otherwise is absurd

If he wanted to come out of retirement he could get a number of jobs tomorrow.

Amazing how a golf pro can do wonders with a bunch of WR but an oline guru couldn't coach in this offense.

    Laughable at best

And again, for the record, he doesn't want to coach, likes the staff, supports the program, and only gives or gave advice when asked

The only time I can remember when we didn't "eat our own" was the first few years when the BobFather turned around the program, and then again in his two National Championship years, 1970 & 1971. During Tom's National Championship years there was a great deal of dissension and catfighting going on. If this team wins out there will still be this level of discord.

Oh no, Skers you digging a hole your not going to be able to get out of. Milt's coaching ability is flat out untouchable when it comes to OL blocking.

But wow this thread went off on a tangent didn't it.

What did you realistically expect to happen here Josh? This thread sucks. I don't have inside info or claim to know who is right or wrong but my horse in this race is the Huskers and they lose in threads like these. Bo comes, Bo goes, who gives a (darn)? Nothing anyone says here will change what happens in that regard but a potential recruit may be swayed by the vibe they get from reading rumors about coaching changes. Just let it go. I left that other shit site because guys couldn't put their own ego's away. F'n good morning everyone.

  • What do you mean to some we didn't win.

ludacrious. the scoreboard clearly shows we won. nobody believes differently.

Why is this so hard to understand.

    1. Some of you love Pelini, think he is the long term answer. That he is a great coach. That we are on our way back. that we are on the right path. that is fine as it is their belief and can't be proven right or wrong.

    2. some of you are in a holding pattern. You are still wait and see. there are some things you like and some that you don't. However, you have seen enough positives so you believe that Pelini needs more time. You believe there is an uptick in recruiting etc. again great, cant be proven right or wrong

    3. Some don't like Pelini. Dont think he is the long term answer. Don't think he is a good head coach. Don't see us as being anywhere near back or even on the way. Again, great, can't be proven right or wrong.

The majority of us that believe #3 state our beliefs and try to back them up with examples that we feel make our point valid.

What is funny is the people that believe #1, the majority, are the ones that blast away at people, posters for thinking anything else. It is the #3 believers that are the calm and collected ones and don't blast people for their beliefs but at the same time stand by ours. I don't see Lando calling anyone's opinion stupid for example.

Why is it so hard to believe that some of us don't think Pelini is any good as a head coach. Don't think he is getting this program where it needs to go. you have examples that you believe make your point and so do we.

it is good for debate and that is what this board is about is it not.

I'm actually in the #2 camp but to say Pelini is a bad coach or isn't a "good coach" is purely asinine. Perhaps you meant head coach, but he's clearly a good coach. There's a difference.

    klein12

  • The #2 camp has the most fun. We just watch the #1 and #3's argue.

    Bills2

  • Actually with time, 1 or 3 will be proven right or wrong and 2 will jump which ever way it swings. Yes Pelini is a good coach, and he is good at evaluating talent, really good IMO. He is still learning as a head coach every game, which he openly admits.

I kinda thought it would go the way of talking about what coaches are available and who we as fans would like to see.

Been long rumored that Cotton was going to be moved and Brown wants to go back to the FCA. I commend both for what they have done at NU.

I never brought up Bo and there was a reason as to why.

I'm with you guys. I think we've hit our ceiling with Bo. I expect more from this football program. I could turn out to be wrong. I hope I do. It doesn't make me any less of a fan because I think we could do better than Pelini. Too much of what I see this team do wrong is in my opinion the direct result of poor coaching. Stupid penalties, guys not lining up right, careless turnovers, crappy special teams. It is what it is, I don't lose any sleep because people disagree with me.

Can we say screw the bye week, add an extra game so we can go 15-0 every year? That's what I want to do

  • 14-0 every year is a little far fetched don't you think? What I would like to see from this program, is to be competitive nationally. We are not. We have played one decent team this year and got throttled. Last year we played 2 decent teams and got throttled. I guess you could say 3 decent teams counting the bowl game and what was that result?

A Big 10 championship would or will be nice, no doubt. However, we can say, "hey, we are Big 10 champs, but we cannot compete with the top teams in the SEC, ACC, Pac 12."

What do I want, personally? I want to compete for the Big 10 every year and to know that should I run up against the elite of the other conferences, I won't get crushed. We can't say that. In fact, History says, if we play against a really good to elite team, we will get thumped.

We are not obviously going to go 14-0 every year. I would just like to know that we are to a point where we can legitimately compete with any team out there, and today, we are far from that.

  • As for Josh and his starting of this thread. Don't let him fool you, he got the response he was hoping for.

Also, don't let Josh fool you with his responses. I have daily conversations with him, and his real feelings rest squarely with mine.

He doesn't think Bo is a good head coach. He hopes Bo goes elsewhere. He thinks Taylor is very pedestrian. He thinks this team this year is average.

He just doesn't say it on here because his role on here, (self made) is to stir the pot. He obviously is very good at it.

I just thought you should all know where his true feelings lie in regards to our team, our coach, and our QB

Because the "I Hate Bo" camp hates when we win, period. As evidenced by the earlier statement saying "I hope we make it to a BCS game and play a REAL team, so we get our asses kicked". People are so blinded by hate towards Bo and this team that they are actually rooting AGAINST their own team! It's sickening!

I mean, holy hell, do I think he should improve in areas? Absolutely! Is he an awful coach who is destined to fail? Absolutely not! I don't care what league you are playing in, if you are winning 9-10 games a year, you are doing SOMETHING right. It's clear we are on a plateau right now, it's up to Bo and the team to figure out how to get over it and rise to the top, or hit the other side and fall off the cliff.

I like to think this staff is smart enough and works hard enough that we'll keep rising to the top again. There is a mighty fine line between the two though in this wild game of college football.

I have to agree the rooting for our team to fail is something I do not understand. There are huge concerns but for the players I can never root or hope they fail. Sorry that is something I don't understand. I know nobody will say I hope they lose but it is obvious from many of these posts that they hope we play a big team in a bowl and get killed. Why would people root for this. I am in no way saying this because I am a firm believer in Bo but I do want our kids to have success.
