  • 1 is pretty obvious subtraction and one is a pretty easy addition

    - Cotton, + Morrow

The only two I could think of are Barn and Ron Brown, but only because of their age. Personally, I don't think we lose any.

So, to answer your question: zero.

Think we lose one. Big question does Marrow replace who moves on?

    Josh what do you think?

  • Stepping down, retiring: Cotton, Brown

    Hired elsewhere: Garrison?

    BornToBeRed

  • I would say let go or stepping down would be Cotton and Garrison

    Retiring may be Brown

    going elsewhere Marrow

think we look outside for a line coach

I thought Garrison was really doing well. If Cotton left wouldn't Garrison be interested in having the line to himself?

Marrow would be the biggest loss there I think.

    Bills2

  • Surprised to hear that. I thought Garrison was looked at pretty favorably. I would like to see some new blood along the OL.

  • Hopefully Bo

Hopefully we get to a BCS game, win or lose there, some SEC school likes what they have seen and offers, then Perlman and Eichorst dont give Bo his standard raise and 1 year extension, completely pissing him off, so he goes looking like he did before and then he either

takes a job or Eichorst says that BS ain't gonna work with me, see ya later

We will be significantly better off as a program when he leaves

  • Meyerkids,
So you agree getting a new, unknown coach after Bo wins a rosebowl?

    Interesting

Was waiting for posts like this. It's funny when people get fixed on a specific topic so much that it affects their ability to hope the team succeeds. You know what a new coach would do to recruiting. What kind a coach wants to go to a program that doesn't want to commit to a successful coach? How would we ever get the right guy after something like that?
It's so backwards. "I hope Bo wins a rosebowl so he leaves" makes no sense. Wouldn't the best chance for our programs success be for BO to parlay that success and for the huskers to benefit from his success? Guess not..
Sorry everyone. I know this is a thread for assistants coaches, but I could let this comment go without responding

I hear what you are saying. I hope we win out.

Do I think that Bo is going to take us back to elite status - NO. my opinion. You do - YOUR OPINION.

What i see after 5 years is that a new coach

    couldn't recruit any worse
couldn't handle his roster any worse
couldn't mismanage his roster any worse
couldn't have any more of an undisciplined team

please tell me what a new coach couldn't do that Bo has done.

    I say nothing

    Some Highlights

In year 4 we had 2 scholarship QB's and 1 with playing experience JOKE
In year 5 we still have 1 qB with real experience
Eric Martin and PJ Smith have been 2 of our best defensive players this year, yet it took 5 years to get them on the field.
4 years of Kyler Reed not being a part of the offense
2 years of Jamaal turner being underutilized
5 years of burned redshirts and wasted eligibility.

I could go on and on

but again I ask, what of any of those above or the countless others, could a new coach not accomplish.

In the Big 10 a new coach is gonna win 9 games a year.

Bo has done nothing special NOTHING

He is on his way to B1G ship game if we can close out this season. 3 of 5 years in a conference championship game, how can you overlook that?

Don't forget that one of those quarterbacks has already broken a number of school records and will undoubtedly go on to break a bunch more. For the first go around at bringing in a quarterback!

Every B1G ten coach wins 9 games every year. Oh wait, no they don't. Year 2 looks like it will exceed 9, so...

To question one of the top offenses in the country just doesn't make much sense. I'm sure if Rex was healthy we would be bitching that Abdullah doesn't get enough burn.

How would you manage the roster?

    Ya better NebrASKa somebody!!!

This might be the most biased uninformed post I've seen on this topic. did you even go through the Callahan years? If all of what you say is true us true, how the heck has this team had four (going on five) years of straight 9 win seasons?

You act like Pelini has never even had a winning season. And no, I'm not a pelini apologist but this is just asinine. Has pelini made his mistakes? Yes, that goes without saying, but he's had twice add much success as the coach he replaced.

I don't have time to go through your post and pick it apart right now, but I will later.
