No doubt Seisay was critical to filling the #1 need. Zaire's ability to step in and replace Lavonte is crucial for the other LB'ers to continue to develop their potential.
There should be a real dog fight at WR.
Sure hope you're right about McMullen; we need Joe Carter to show up, me thinks.
Not that he'll play this year, but, Armstrong was a critical recruit for a position with needed depth.

After watching almost all of Nebraska's recruits' highlights on youtube, I think Mo and McMullen will make a huge impact. They can flat out play. Was very impressed with Afalava's highlight reel. I know he's not mentioned here but the kid is a head hunter ! I think our defense will once again be back in the nation's top five in a year or two.

Mo will need to make an impact if our D is going to be better than last year, Rose and Zaire have a good chance to also make an ealy inpact on our D. Would like to see 1 of them be 3/5ths as producive and disruptive as David was. That's about all you can ask, there aren't many like him that come along.

I disagree, Michael. Of all the defensive units, they'll (once again) be the group I expect the least of. In terms of how much weight they carry next season, my ranks are:
1. Secondary
2. Defensive Line
3. Linebackers

Westercamp will play
Rose will play
Jackson will play (if he qualifies)
I can also see Armstrong, Cross, McMullen burning their shirts.
I think Moore is a bit of a longer shot, but wouldn't be shocked if he's playing.

Good write up, glad to see someone else realizes what a factor McMullen could potentially be. The one thing you left out, though, is he's SMART. Listen to the kid speak sometime. He's very mature for his age, and has an obvious quiet confidence about him.
I also think the LBs are going to be fun to watch this year. They're going to hear for the next 7 months how thin and inexperienced our LB corps is, and I think the incoming backers, along with Santos, are going to feed off of it. With all the expectations being where they are, they'll have nothing to lose and I think it will show in their play.

Not sure what Pelini is going to do with Afalava. I assume he'll redshirt the kid. Looking at his highlights on youtube I was very impressed. Afalava is a head hunter ! He hits hard and is very quick. Going to be hard to keep him off the field.

all 5 of those guys will make an impact this year. and in the same order too. Seisay and Zaire are guaranteed to get PT. Westerkamp i think will get some PT right away too. Mcmullen and Rose I think will be limited year 1.
