Drive for 2013 success begins now

Welcome to the VIP Room, the cornerstone feature of that takes you behind the scenes and brings you the very latest on University of Nebraska athletics.

Last summer, the Huskers hosted their first Big Red Weekend - a reciting weekend designed to showcase Nebraska's program and family atmosphere to out-of-state prospects. The results of that effort have been positive, and could get even better this week.

NU received a commitment from Maliek Collins last week, and we'll tell you what may have sealed the deal for Collins during his visit to Lincoln.

While recruiting is certainly a focus right now, many are already preparing for spring practice and the 2013 season. We take a look at three specific areas the Huskers need to focus on prior to spring drills beginning in a few months.

We also tell you about coach Tim Miles' recruiting for the Nebrasketball team, and give you a quick update on Darin Erstad and his baseball team as it prepares to begin practice later this month.
