I like it when I hear about kids talk Nebraska like this. I'm happy for the kid. Will he get re-evaluated by 247? Why the low rating?

Eh! Who cares about ratings? What I care about is that the coaches are getting players they actually want.

I second that emotion! Good for young Mr. Whitaker to step up & introduce himself and good for the coaches to follow up. Great story.

IDK why, but I was reminded of the "wolf-pack" speech when I read this:

“I was leaning toward Oregon and halfway through the visit I was thinking ‘Wow, Nebraska is steering me away from the dream school,’” he said. “That’s when I started to know that the team I thought was my dream team, wouldn’t be the team for me.”

I dont get it....to me there are reasons certain players just "slipped through the cracks". For the most part, we only see things on paper, and on paper this doesn't look real good. However, I would gladly be proven wrong be Corey.

By the way, I think its interesting that we're still able to convince kids that O-line is our specialty. That's good. I think Garrison is playing a big part of that.

Wow, Whitaker and Alexander as our last two commits....both have "reach" all over them.

Again, another recruit that no service rates as FBS material. These services are often way off the mark on an inexact science, but when they all think a kid isn't major college material it's a very bad sign. Now we have two of these "gems" coming into the fold in the last days before signing day because the staff apparently can't attract top flight talent to Lincoln. I've been a Bo advocate since the beginning, but this inability to recruit good talent is going to be his undoing, and I suspect his days are now numbered here.

I hope this staff knows we're catching on to their game now though. Whitaker and Alexander will be under the microscope and it will be very telling either way if these guys do nothing, are role players, or are stars.

It will signal that either we are indeed reaching out of desperation, we don't have an eye for talent, or we really do have good talent evaluation.

Or we're just damn lucky. And it's better to be lucky than good.

I'm not so sure Whitaker is a "reach. " I think he's going to be solid on the inside.
