Nebraska filled a big position of need Friday with the commitment of JUCO offensive lineman Chongo Kondolo.
"I'm going to be a Husker," Kondolo texted Friday.
Kondolo, a 3-star offensive lineman from Fresno City College, visited Nebraska in January, and gives Nebraska its second junior college offensive line commit of the 2013 class, joining offensive tackle Matt Finnin.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Kondolo, who played tackle at Fresno City College, was recruited to Nebraska as a guard or center. He was recruited by California area recruiter Rich Fisher, who visited Kondolo in Fresno on Thursday.
“I like their offense,” Kondolo said following his official visit. “I’d be playing guard and possibly center. I’d mainly play guard. I’m OK with that. I’ve never played center, but that’s OK. It’s a situation here where there is an open spot this year. Next year they graduate a lot of seniors.”
Kondolo will enroll at Nebraska in the summer and have three seasons to play two. He has an overall rating of 85 and is the No. 102 JUCO player in the country according to 247Sports.
