Wide receiver hearing from Nebraska

Drew Wolitarsky at Canyon

While Canyon County, Calif., wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky has yet to receive his first verbal offer, it hasn’t been for a lack of productivity on the gridiron.

In fact, the chiseled 6-2, 190-pound junior pass-catcher from Canyon High School has been one of the most productive receivers the Golden State has ever seen. Last season, he hauled in 70 balls for 1,628 yards with 21 touchdowns and is roughly 600 yards shy of the California career record for receiving heading into his senior season.

The talented prospect is hearing from Arizona State, Boise State, Duke, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, San Jose State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State. He feels Minnesota, Oregon and San Jose State could be the closest to offering.

And with the recruiting process having wrapped up for the class of 2012, he expects those offer to be coming soon.

“I’m really not too worried about not having an offer right now,” Wolitarsky said. “I know a bunch of schools have just finished wrapping up their senior classes and haven’t had the chance to look into the juniors yet. I expect things to start to pick up during the spring time.

Wolitarsky has been a familiar face at the camp and combine circuit over the past year. He most recently participated in the Semper Fidelis All-American Proving Ground Combine at Chase Filed in Phoenix last month and caught the eye of 247Sports national reporter Justin Hopkins, who dubbed the talented junior as one of the top ten performers at the event.

“Wolitarsky is solid,” Hopkins wrote in his article after the event. “He's got a great frame and solid muscle for a receiver. He was a favorite target of the quarterbacks and I can't recall a single drop all day long. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver is getting lots of early attention and should be one of the more highly recruited players in the class of 2013.”
